The Chihuahua Catching Caper

Somebody dumped a male and female chihuahua out in the woods.  They had a litter of puppies out there.  Originally, there were 5 puppies.  By the time Denita was told about the whole family, there were only 4 puppies left.  We went to check it out. On the first night out we got the daddy and one puppy.  Daddy walked right up to us!  We just picked him up, and put him in a crate.  The puppy was caught in a trap.  Over the next month, we tried everything we could think of to catch momma and the other babies!  No luck!  We finally were able to catch the momma by luring her onto a screened porch with bacon cheese burgers!  Once inside, we drugged her, and put her in a crate once she fell asleep.  Almost another month has passed, with the last 3 puppies still out there.  We even hired a professional trapper!  No luck.  Denita went out to feed them the other day, and saw them come off the same porch.  We got a new plan formulated.  We’d lure themm onto the porch, too.  I devised the age-old deal of rigging the door to slam shut by pulling out the brick holding the door open.  We watched, and watched.  One by one, they went in!  Never more than 2 pups at a time!  We decided we’d better take what we can get!  So…….we got 2 of the puppies tonight!!  We feel really bad about leaving the last one alone, but at least 2 more of these babies don’t have to live in the woods, with no protection!  We’ll try to get the last one again tomorrow.  Pray for us!!
